The Japanese automotive giant, Honda Automobiles, Indian subsidiary, Honda Cars India, recently launched the much-awaited mid-size SUV, Elevate, in India with a starting introductory price of Rs 10.99 lakh. The company recently announced that it has commenced the deliveries of this new SUV, and it will be delivering its initial units in a few mega delivery events across the country. The first such mega-delivery event took place in Hyderabad, where the company delivered a total of 100 Honda Elevate SUVs to their awaiting customers.
Commenting on the mega delivery event, Yuichi Murata, Director, Marketing & Sales, Honda Cars India Ltd., stated,
“We are excited to deliver our much-anticipated SUV, the Honda Elevate, to our esteemed customers at this special and memorable mega delivery event. Today we are delivering 100 units of Elevate in Hyderabad, followed by many more events in other cities in the coming days. We believe the strong entry of Honda Elevate in the Indian SUV market will open up new vistas for our brand’s presence in the country. We welcome all Elevate customers into our Honda Family.”
Honda Cars India Ltd. has announced that this is the first delivery event which it has organized, and there will be a few more of these mega delivery events across India. In these events, the company will hand deliver a number of Honda Elevates to customers, making it one of the few automakers to perform such deliveries on this scale.
Honda Elevate variants and pricing
Coming to the details of the new Honda Elevate, the company launched this new Hyundai Creta and Kia Seltos rivaling mid-size SUV model earlier this week. Honda Cars India has launched the new Elevate in four variants. These four variants are namely the SV, V, VX, and ZX. The company is further offering options of the manual and CVT transmissions (except for the base SV, which comes only with a manual transmission).
The company launched the base SV variant with a price tag of Rs 10.99 lakh for the MT variant. Next up on the lineup is the V MT variant, which has been priced at Rs 12.10 lakh, and the V CVT variant at Rs 13.20 lakh. Third on the list is the VX variant, which has been priced at Rs 13.49 lakh and Rs 14.59 lakh for the MT and the CVT variants, respectively. Lastly, the ZX variant, which is the top-of-the-line variant, has been priced at Rs 14.89 lakh and Rs 15.99 lakh for the MT and CVT transmissions, respectively.
Honda Elevate design and features
The Honda Elevate, in terms of design, features a bold and muscular look on the outside. Meanwhile, on the inside, the car comes fairly equipped with modern features such as a 7-inch TFT screen in the instrument console, a 10.25-inch touchscreen infotainment system, wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, automatic climate control, and a push-start button.
Apart from these, the Honda Elevate also comes with rear AC vents, a single-pane sunroof, and a wireless charger. It also incorporates the Honda Sensing suite of advanced driver-assistance system (ADAS) features, including a collision mitigation braking system, road departure mitigation system, lane-keep assist, adaptive cruise control, auto high beam, and lead car departure mitigation system.
As for the drivetrain side of things, the Honda Elevate shares its powerplant with its sedan sibling, the Honda City. It comes equipped with a single naturally aspirated petrol engine option. The car comes equipped with a 1.5-liter four-cylinder naturally-aspirated petrol engine found under the bonnet of its sedan sibling City. This engine will come paired with a choice of a 6-speed manual or a CVT gearbox. In terms of the power figures, this petrol engine generates 121 PS of maximum power and 145 Nm of maximum torque.
