New AI-Powered Scent Sensors from Osmo Identify Counterfeits

Osmo, the digital olfaction company, launched AI-powered scent sensors to authenticate products in new ways.

Osmo paired advanced chemical sensors with AI trained on massive datasets. These sensors recognize subtle scent patterns, ignore background scents, and deliver precise yes-or-no answers as to whether the product is real or counterfeit.

Embedding these sensors in a retailer’s supply chains makes authentication faster, simpler, and more reliable.

Alex Wiltschko, CEO and founder of Osmo, said,

“Our AI sensors listen carefully, cutting through noise to confirm authenticity. They work when older methods fall short, helping businesses and customers get what the genuine products they’re paying for and deserve—every time.”

Different from current technology, Osmo sensors read the unique scent signatures of authentic products and use AI to identify counterfeits with precision and speed.

Osmo’s sensors identify the unique chemical “fingerprints” of substances, allowing it to detect deviations from expected chemical compositions.

The technology is also designed to adapt, guaranteeing products meet specific safety standards, identifying counterfeit or adulterated materials, and detecting specific chemicals in a variety of environments.
