Rohit Roy, a popular television and film actor, has become the latest celebrity to purchase an electric vehicle. He has bought a brand new Ultraviolette F77 electric bike, specifically the Space Edition version, launched earlier this year in the market, costing around Rs 5.60 lakh, ex-showroom. It seems the actor had the motorcycle delivered to his residence.
In fact, the actor acquired a motorcycle produced in limited numbers. The Space Edition of the Ultraviolette F77 was launched in homage to India’s Chandrayan 3 space mission, with only 10 units manufactured. Rohit Roy has joined an exclusive group of enthusiasts by purchasing this electric motorcycle. Interestingly, all 10 units of this special edition motorcycle were booked within an hour after online bookings opened.
The Space Edition of this bike is essentially the same as the original F77, with minor cosmetic changes and a new paint job. Finished in Cosmic White, inspired by aircraft, the motorcycle features Orange and Blue accents, lending it a sporty appearance. What sets this motorcycle apart from the regular version is the inclusion of custom-machined aerospace-grade 7075 aluminum, a robust alloy commonly used in the aerospace sector. The motorcycle also comes with an all-aluminum key. As a limited edition motorcycle, the Ultraviolette F77 Space Edition has “1 of 10” enumerated on the charging port lid.
Ultraviolette launched its inaugural product, the F77 electric bike, in the market last year. The TVS-backed electric motorcycle manufacturer introduced its first product with a starting price of Rs 3.8 lakh (e-showroom). The F77 Space Edition boasts a 10.3 kWh battery pack and can generate 40.5 Bhp and 100 Nm of peak torque. This electric motorcycle accelerates from 0-100 kmph in just 7.8 seconds, boasting a top speed of 152 kmph. The Ultraviolette F77 motorcycle has a certified riding range of 307 km.
The Ultraviolette F77 features active cooling for the battery pack, LED headlamp, tail lamp, and turn indicators, upside-down front forks, monoshock rear suspension (both adjustable for preload), disc brakes on both wheels, and dual-channel ABS. Additionally, it is equipped with a large color TFT display serving as the instrument cluster, 3 riding modes, integrated e-SIM with connectivity features, 9-axis IMU, shock, and impact sensors, among other features.
The regular F77 comes in Shadow, Laser, and Airstrike variants, with the Space Edition based on the top-end variant. Besides Rohit Roy, Rannvijay Singha of “Roadies” fame and actor-cum-car enthusiast Dulquer Salmaan have also purchased Ultraviolette motorcycles. Ukltraviolette also showcased a concept of their F99 electric motorcycle at the EICMA 2023. The F99 would become the fastest electric motorcycle in the country. Returning to Rohit Roy, he recently acquired a brand new MG Hector premium SUV, delivered to his home. Launched earlier this year, the updated MG Hector now offers more features. It is available with a 1.5-liter turbocharged petrol engine and a 2.0-liter turbocharged diesel engine, though the diesel version lacks an automatic transmission option. The SUV boasts ADAS features, which has now become a very common feature among cars in this segment. The price for 2023 version of MG Hector SUV starts at Rs 14.73 lakh, ex-showroom and goes up to Rs 21.73 lakh, ex-showroom.
