Katy Perry Thanks Elon Musk For Her Tesla CyberTruck: Gets Trolled

The American pop star and songwriter Katy Perry has come under fire from netizens online. The actress was recently trolled after she shared a picture of herself with her new Tesla Cybertruck. The main reason she was trolled was that recently Tesla has recalled all 3,878 Cybertrucks which it had delivered. These trucks have been recalled over a faulty accelerator pedal which can get stuck.

Katy Perry shared the picture of her Tesla Cybertruck on X (formerly Twitter). She captioned the post, “thx for the delivery @elonmusk #idol”. In the picture, she was seen posing with her army green color-wrapped Cybertruck. Interestingly, the billionaire CEO of Tesla and owner of X, Elon Musk, replied, “Looks good”.

Unfortunately, apart from Elon, there were only a few people who thought sharing this picture was a good idea. Numerous Netizens trolled Katy Perry and said that her new Cybertruck looks ugly. A few people also mentioned that this truck might not even be hers.

They said that it could belong to the singing reality TV show Idol. For those who may not be aware, Katy Perry is one of the judges on the Idol show. Netizens, however, particularly trolled the singer for sharing the post soon after all of the Tesla Cybertrucks have been recalled. They mentioned that she should not be endorsing a vehicle which has this grave issue.

All Tesla Cybertrucks recalled

As stated above, the American electric vehicle giant Tesla has initiated a widespread recall for all Tesla Cybertrucks. This recall has impacted all Cybertrucks delivered to customers, totaling 3,878 vehicles.

The main reason behind this recall is due to a significant fault concerning the accelerator pedal. The issue, brought to light by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), revolves around the potential dislodgment of the pedal pad.

It has been reported by several users and the authorities that the accelerator pedal can become trapped in the vehicle’s interior trim under high force conditions. As per the reports, this situation stems from an “unapproved change” during assembly.

It has been stated that the use of soap lubricant decreased the retention of the pedal pad. The result of this has become a risk to drivers’ safety. The recall includes all Model Year 2024 Cybertrucks manufactured between November 13, 2023, and April 4, 2024.

Tesla identified the problem on March 31st, followed by a subsequent report on April 3rd. The company then voluntarily initiated the recall process on April 12th. Fortunately, despite the severity of the issue, there have been no reported collisions, injuries, or fatalities due to the accelerator pedal malfunction.

According to reports, affected Cybertruck owners can expect repairs conducted free of charge. Now the company will either through accelerator pedal replacements or reworks. Additionally, Tesla has implemented a new accelerator pedal component in vehicles produced after April 17th to prevent future occurrences of the problem. Unlike previous recalls, which Tesla often resolved through over-the-air software updates, this particular issue necessitates physical intervention at Tesla service centers.
